Why Protein-Only Days

Protein-only days are a vital part of your IGNITE Fat-Burning System, not only during your first 8 days, but also throughout your weight-maintenance and course-correction programs.

3 reasons for protein-only days

1. Clear the bloodstream of carbohydrates. To get your body back into normal fat-burning mode, you need to temporarily take out all of the carbohydrates in the bloodstream as well as the muscle stores of carbohydrate (muscle glycogen). Most people eat way too many carbohydrates (especially empty ones), which puts our bodies into a fat-storing mode.

2. Lower calories. Protein-only allows your calories to be very low without losing any muscle tissue. The temporary surplus of protein helps build and maintain lean muscle tissue, which is the most important asset you have for fat burning. This keeps your body (especially your muscles) from feeling the craving and deprivation associated with most low fat, calorie-restrictive diets.

3. Stop the unhealthy insulin overload cycle. Because most of us eat way too many carbohydrates, our bodies become insulin-resistant. This makes our bodies release way too much insulin. In this state your body cannot burn fat. The result: fat storage. Protein, unlike carbohydrates, doesn’t convert into sugar so it has very little impact on elevating insulin levels in the body. In only two days, your body’s unhealthy cycle of releasing way too much insulin is broken. Your body returns to a more normal state where it can more normally burn fat again. This turns you into a lean, mean, fat-burning machine.

While there are only three reasons listed in the program, there are multiple reasons why adjusting weight using Protein Days is important. Here are some benefits you may experience: You’ll feel more satisfied with fewer calories. Your energy levels will be more level. Your mood will improve (no more emotional roller coaster). Your brain will be clearer (no more brain fog).

Why not eat only protein then?

Because carbohydrates are important for your health. After your body is regulated and restored by losing the weight and getting your insulin under control, you need to be careful in the TYPES of carbohydrates you insert back into your diet.

Opt for colorful vegetables and fruits and whole grains instead of the “whites” as you learn in the IGNITE system. These contain a maximum of fiber and nutrition to slow down digestion, keeping you full longer; keep you cleaned out; and provide the wide variety of nutrition your body needs for optimal health.

The XYNGULAR Super Fruit Global Blend and XypStix provide an important dose of super nutrition during your Protein Days. Don’t neglect that all-important nutrition.

Also, during your Protein Days, be sure to consume the full amount of water recommended (extremely important), and don’t neglect any element in the program so you can exercise with full energy and maintain all the normal cleansing functions you need to optimize your health during this process.

Don’t fall for the mistaken idea that only one of our products is your “magic bullet” and you can save money by not using the others faithfully. They are all vital to your success with IGNITE.

ACTION STEPS:

1. When you have a Protein Day, keep track of how you feel. Rate on a scale from one to five your levels of mental clarity, emotional stability, hunger and cravings, and energy level for exercise.

2. Resolve to look forward to your Protein Days by making them fun and delicious. Vary the types of protein you use. Look through the IGNITE materials online and pick your favorites. Talk with others about how you enjoy your Protein Days and the benefits you’re getting rather than what you’re missing. Make your important Protein Days a treat, not a chore.
